Our Story
Our team has been proudly serving the Seacoast community for over 20 years under the leadership of Dr. Tina Ho. We understand the compassion and respect that Dr. Ho cultivated amongst her patients and community over the years and we maintain this dedication to quality under the guidance of Dr. Chris Getchell. Our commitment to your oral overall health remains the same and we look forward to seeing you in the office soon!
Dr. Chris Getchell DMD
Dr. Chris was born and raised in North Conway, New Hampshire to a family of legacy UNH graduates. No strangers to the Seacoast, the Getchell family were longtime members of the Portsmouth, NH and Elliot, ME communities dating back to the early 1930s. The family proudly owned the Paterson Getchell paint store on Daniel Street in downtown Portsmouth, operated by Chris' grandfather and great-grandfather, until 1982.

After attending the University of New Hampshire, Chris went on to work for an esteemed Harvard research lab out of Brigham & Women’s in Boston, MA before receiving his Doctor of Dental Medicine DMD from Tufts University. He has practiced dentistry in Florida and Maine, and is thrilled to return to his home state to practice, raise a family, and become a member of the Seacoast community he knows and loves.

Chris met his longtime partner and wife Jamie while attending high school in North Conway and they welcomed the arrival of their first child this past Spring! In his spare time, Chris is an outdoor enthusiast and frequently travels back to the White Mountains to hike, fish and ski with family.

Liz Bui, our valued Dental Hygienist, is a Portsmouth native, having grown up just a few short miles from the office. Liz received her degree as a registered dental hygienist from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston. She has been with the practice for over 13 years, treating our patients’ oral and hygiene needs with exceptional care. Liz is gentle and friendly, and ensures her patients have a pleasant and positive experience at their cleaning.
Outside of work, Liz can be found hiking and enjoys walking, seeing plays and movies, and spending time with friends.
A Dental Assistant for over 18 years, Helen’s cheerful and happy demeanor can make anyone smile. She takes great care to make our patients feel at ease and comfortable during their appointment with Dr. Getchell.
Born in China, Helen has resided in Portsmouth for 23 years and loves growing flowers in her garden. When not at the office she also enjoys hiking, golfing, and spending time with her family and two adorable dogs.
Judi is the friendly face that greets you when entering our office, making you feel at home and accommodated from the start of your visit. Judi prides herself on her friendly and helpful nature and enjoys getting to know and care for our patients as our Front Desk Associate.
Originally from Connecticut, Judi resides in Alfred, ME where she is very active in animal rescue efforts. Outside of the office she enjoys hiking, boating, and spending time with her two grandsons.
As a Front Desk Associate, Mickey assists our patients with scheduling and takes great care to make patients feel comfortable throughout their visit. Mickey’s background in accounting and finance led her to finding a passion in hospitality, where she honed her skills in customer service and management. She is a sincere and reliable presence in the office.
Mickey is from Lee, NH and enjoys spending time with her family, spoiling all 12 of her nieces and nephews, and caring for her pup, Zoe.
